About the Festival of Education

The first USA Festival of Education took place on October 21st 2023, on the beautiful grounds of St Andrew's Episcopal School. Located just outside of Washington D.C. in Potomac, Maryland. The Festival attracted several hundred educators from across the USA and beyond.

The USA Festival of Education is a collaboration between St. Andrew’s Episcopal School and its internationally recognized Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning and the curators behind the UK Festival, Wellington College and EducationScape. The Festival of Education was created by Wellington College, a leading school in the UK. It has grown to become one of the most significant education events in the UK with over 5,000 educators accessing over 300 speakers across two days. Coachella, but for teachers.

The Washington, DC area has been selected as the location for the USA Festival of Education due to its concentration of various education stakeholders, including public, private, charter, and home schools and districts, as well as undergraduate and graduate schools, educational technology innovators, national and state policy makers, and foundations and philanthropic organizations. This region is united in its goal of improving teaching and learning both regionally and nationally.

With its tagline, "Where those who inspire find their own inspiration," the Festival promises to be a space where educators can share their innovative ideas, participate in insightful discussions, and engage in activities designed to foster creativity and collaboration. As a Festival that has gained widespread recognition in the UK, the Festival of Education is sure to be a valuable experience for teachers in the US looking to enhance their knowledge and skills in the field of education.
